steeliebob Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 There is life after the salmon fishing has died. These were caught last night casting from shore. The bigger one weighed 15 pounds 38 inches and the smaller one was 12 pounds 34 inches. On light tackle they fight like a salmon and are pretty good eating.
Nailer Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Pike are great eating. Thanks for sharing and nice job Robert.
Priority1 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Bob, GJ on the shore pike. They are excellent eating. I have a neighbor who prefers them. We catch a few each year trolling for walleye on the SB.
steeliebob Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 When the bigger pike hit I thought I had a salmon for the first 15 minutes of the battle. It made a couple of screaming runs into the lake peeling off 100 yards of 8lb test in seconds. Then there was several shorter runs and eventually I saw what I hooked into.
