flyman013 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Finally made the first trip of the year on the big lake, and went 0 for 0 (unless you count the three balloons I pulled out of the lake). Marked fish in 60 to 90 FOW, all huggin the bottom. Threw everything at them, spoons, flies, body baits, but could not get anything to go. Varied speed betwen 2.2-3.0 and changed directions many times. But it was a beautiful night and got to spend some time with my dad. Hope some of you had better luck!
Martin1950 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 After my last 0-0 trip to South Haven, AKA LAKERVILLE, tried good ole St. Joe Thursday night. Not much better, but at least we hit two Chromers.Martin
danthebuilder Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 We got a decent king in SH last night that put on a good show. Pro King crystal spoon on a 200 copper. ~90 FOW. 2.3 south troll. There was a decent amount of fish at the cleaning station(they weren't lakers). We only fished about 2 hours. They're definitely out there.
danagnello Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Bummer. But u spent good time with your dad.Try something stealthily when they won't bite, we were marking fish/bait on bottom in 130-150flow in St Joe last Thursday, things were slow n fish were negative, so on rigger we ran yellow dolphin spoon on 12# line down 89 in 150flow, got 12.4# laker n small king on it.Last Tuesday read article in Great Lakes Magazine about it n running lead core off riggers. Don't have any lead, just copper, so couldn't try it but light line worked.Try it, you never know.
