Trophy Specialist Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I had to cancel charters for yesterday and today due to bad weather. It pretty much rained all day yesterday with winds all over the place and some lighting too. Today, the winds are already howling at 38 knots on the Bay and with a northeast direction, I'm sure the waves are gigantic. It's supposed to calm down tonight and we should be back on the water tomorrow. One thing that's nice about Saginaw Bay though, compared to Erie, is that after a big blow we usually get right back into good fishing quickly because the Bay does not muddy up like Erie. If there was a gale forced, NE wind on Erie, it would take days for the muddy water to clear up enough to fish. Posted By Capt. Mike Veine of Trophy Specialist Charters
BRED Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Getting ready for an Erie trip ,starting Friday for a week, the fishing reports are saying check your boats if you dock in a marina .The strong NE winds pushed several feet of water to the west end plus 2-3" of rain.It will be muddy for 4-5 days proably 10 miles out.The good thing is the water level will drop as soon as the wind lets up.
