Trophy Specialist Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 With the nice weather of the past few days and the warm forecast for the next week, Lake Erie should hopefully be breaking up soon. Satellite images on the internet show openings forming at the mouth of the Detroit River and also out in front of Monroe. The ice in the Western Basin got to over two feet thick in places, so it will take some time to melt it all down. Hopefully, I will be able to get the boat in the water during March. We will just have to wait and see what Mother Nature has in store for us though. Posted By Capt. Mike Veine of Trophy Specialist Charters
