whatadeal Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Just completed the most intense week of training/instruction since attending school. Glad it is done and passed, now the paperwork.
mattmishler Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Congrats, what a big relief it is. Where are you going to be chartering from
Twill23 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Congrats! Paper work ends up being a bigger pain than the class. Lol
whatadeal Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Hopefully Frankfort once I get through all the paperwork. Where do you start with boat inspections and required safety equipment?
Twill23 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Distict 4 LAw Enforcement Division.231-775-9727Call them. Ask for a charter boat packet.Work on getting you captain's license application and all the other crap involved done before you worry about that. Get vessel coast guard documented.(TWIC, Drugtest/Physical, Character References, Sea Service Times, Application Fees)The paperwork and all the extra fees, and required "crap" turns out to be much worse than the actual class and exam.
whatadeal Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Have everything ready to send in,TWIC, drug test, physical, sea service, etc.Just looking ahead to what's left.Hopefully our fishery holds together.
