young gun Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I use the 200 setting on my lowrance hds8 . Works great!
Hooter Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I have the humminbird 899ci hd combo and I love it! Here is the link to the manuals for humminbird products. They explain all the different sonar beams in detail.http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/Product-Manuals/
KJ pluggin Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 If I remember correctly I think the 83 gives you a 60 deg. cone, 45deg for the 50, and 20deg for the 200. I have the 83/200 on our boat and have been pretty happy with it, but either would work for you.
SeaCatMich Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 The number of beams and cone angle/diameter are going to be different by manufacturer and for each transducer.
