Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal

Just wondering if anyone has any reports from the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal and what/how do guys fish it in a boat? Troll? Never fished the canal (always drove over it). The reason I am asking is because the wind looks like the lake is going to get big this weekend and wanted to find some fishable water for salmon. One last thing is there any chance the fish will be silver at all or will they be dark already. I would like some more fish for the freezer.

You can either troll the canal or set up and cast, both work. The boat that are casting usually set up between the canal entrance and the creek mouth. I would be surprised if you caught anything silver in there right now.
