Dr Hook Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Lake is no longer rough but fishing sure is. Managed to finish 5 for 5 with 2 lakers, 2 kings and a steelhead by slowly picking away at them all morning. Had hits in 78, 102, 120, 152, and 170 fow. Set lines straight out of channel marking fish and bait on the bottom in 55 fow but no takers.3 came on green/glow spindoctor with Big Weenie Pig In a Blanket on rigger 60 down.1 came on blue splatterback Captains Choice plug off rigger 35 down.1 came on Big Weenie mylar Proctologist on glow/dark green/white spindoctor off rigger 75 down.
Whatahoot Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 We were out there with you this morning fishing the same water. I agree tough fishing, but our 1 for 2 with a 4lb Steely makes your bad day look great . Steelhead hit rigger SWR but didn't trip it and went next door and wrapped around the dipsy and started pulling that drag out. We reeled in the dipsy only to find it hit the green ladder back J Plug on the rigger. Lost a small fish on the other rigger/meat rig when the clip broke in half on the snap swivel... Argh! What direction and speed worked for you? Thanks and good fishing for a tough day.
Dr Hook Posted September 8, 2014 Author Posted September 8, 2014 Everything came on south troll except the last one came on a north troll while pulling lines. Speed was 1.8 - 2.0 gps though the steelie came when I was futzing with the throttle.
Whatahoot Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks, still struggling as a newbie and trying to learn from my mistakes. We trolled SW first and then NE trying to find something to work. Generally ran 2.0 to 2.4mph down speed 2.2 to 2.6 gps so sounds like we could have slowed down a bit...
