Caught a Lake Trout on Superior that had a bunch of little gray wormy things that looked like miniature leeches, maybe an inch long on it.

Anybody know what they are and would fish been safe to eat??

Lamprey's maybe??

I fish the weeds in Saginaw Bay for walleye and they also have the same on their fins and tails sometimes. They are a form of a blood sucker. Usually if the fish are out of the weeds they don't have these on them. There is no problem eating the fish. Some of these will detach from the fish and be stuck to the cooler bottom. I don't think they are lamprey.
