SeaCatMich Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I believe that Chip lost access to his manufacturing facilities to make them. He had the company up for sale a couple of years back but I don't think anyone bought it. He taught industrial ed in a high school, but has retired.
sherman51 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I have seen a few of them on ebay but not often. I use the 13# pancake weights from cabelas and they work good for me.
medic Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Thank you Sherm... Yes, it looks like I will be making a trip up to Cabelas in Anchorage soon...
sherman51 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 if your thinking about going with the 13# pancake weights you might want to check out downrigger weights on ebay. they have a set of dunker 12# weights for 90.00 and a set of 13# yeck weights for 97.00. the cabelas weights in 13# are 124.00 for a pair. ebay also has some weights made like the stinger weights.
medic Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 Thanks Sherm. .. My problem is shipping. I'm in Alaska....
medic Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 But I'm coming back to Michigan the first part of October to move the better half up... :-)
RedRider Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I know of one in Pardiville, WI thats probably for sale. Are you driving back? Could get it transfered to Eagan,MN.
medic Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 I am flying back then driving back up to Alaska, Reid.. :-)That may be a possibility. . :-)
RedRider Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Bill, another option which I really like are Salltys Balls, a fish shaped weight with less blow back that seems to draw a lot of fish off the bottom.ps. check your messenger as well for a message from Terry.
