The Rodfather Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 You never forget the fish that got away. We lost a 20+ pound king last night at the back of the boat in the dark. It'd taken a moonshine spoon on a Dipsy and as I was hand lining in The last 15 feet, The king didn't like the propwash, Woke up and gave one last fight and spit out the spoon. Good times.
KICK'R Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Always tough to swallow we had a 20+ run into 1 of our riggers while pre fishing for the Holland tournament it was gone in the blink of an eye!
sherman51 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 seems like the big ones are the ones that always gets away, LOL. just kidding.I was fishing the central basin and had a huge walleye on and my hook broke. I put on another harness and put it back out and within minutes another huge walleye hit the same line. got it up behind the boat and it shook its head and was gone. another bad hook it had broken the same way the 1st hook had broken. got both fish up close enough to see them and they were the biggest eyes I have ever had on. they were both 12# + fish. I still use that brand of harness but I am still a little leery of there hooks though.
