Whoopee Tyee Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Started out at the city dock on Stover road at 5:30 both mornings. On 7-30 took a nice 17 lb King out in front on a Moonshine RV Mongolian Beef Spoon on the wire Dipsy out about 120 (estimate down 50 to 60ft). Fished in front of Medusa and then the outer bank and back in without another Salmon bite. Took one Lake Trout. On 8-1 started out the same but no Salmon bite and fished the outer bank and then went out to North point and took several Lake Trout. One was too big and 5 were too small. Got two keepers. Caught the Lakers on spoons, cowbells and peanuts, and a Big Weenie Meat Rig. A full core, Slide Diver, regular Dipsy and down rigger all caught fish. Only one small Salmon carcass at the fish cleaning station. It looks like the few fish that were there have moved on for the moment.
mlercel Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 We found a little pod of nice kings in deeper water on Thurs evening; caught 4 and lost one plus 5 keeper lake trout 60-70 on riggers with spoons and two kings on divers with spin doctor/fly 180-200 back. Quit early because we had a few youngsters on the boat but had big plans to drill them Friday morning.... ran out to same exact spot at 6 am and nothing but a clear blue on the Garmin screen; zero salmon bites, switched up and boxed 6 lakers.
