KICK'R Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So we had a great holiday weekend in ST. JOE MI and fishing was decent compared to what we have been experiencing. The girlfriend and I started fishing straight out of the pier heads of St. Joe in 70 FOW on Friday am and headed out to 130 found better action in the 75-100 FOW. We went 5-5 with 2 decent steelys and released 3 lakers it was a nice day to be on the water besides the bugs. On Saturday am I took my dad out for the first time in a while the wind was kicking pretty good with 2-4 ftrs we fished the same area managed to catch a few nice fish finally got a couple kings and another nice steely and released 2 lakers and lost another king. So Sunday am the girlfriend, cousin and I headed out the wind was supposed to pick up pretty good late in the morning well they blew that forecast we pulled out of the pier heads into 2-4ftrs again and the wind was honking out of the SW but we decided to tough it out. We started in 60 FOW and fished to 100 best action was 75-90 FOW fishing was the toughest it had been all weekend for silvers we ended up getting 3 lakers and another nice steely and also missed a nice steely. Copper rod 150ft with a blue green yellow spoon was our best rod for steelys meat rig on wire dipsey 150 ft out took a king on sat and a NBK MAG took our other king on rigger down 57.Here are a few pics enjoy!!

littleboat Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Congrats on your catch by the way. I have a 16 1/2 ' Crestliner sport angler and was wondering how well the smaller boats do in larger wave conditions. I realize it's all on how well you handle the boat, besides it size. Thanks for your input. LBSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Great Lakes Fisherman mobile app
SUPERTRAMP Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Finally got out Today Tuesday, and then the lightning started. Turned around and ran for cover. Spent the morning working on the boat. We have a Chriscraft 316 Sportfisherman. She is named SilverKing, and is slipped in St Joe. Rough water is not an issue but Lightning is.
