SOG mean "speed over ground" via boat speedometer or gps..."speed at ball" is the speed taken from the probe down at fishing depth. SUPERTRAMP Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 MPH, Knots is too hard to break down on the fly. I had a gps that gave speed in knots and had to have a conversion table to figure it out.
