News Posted June 27, 2014 Share Posted June 27, 2014 University at Buffalo researchers have found that green algae in the Great Lakes not only protect bacteria from destruction by the sun's ultraviolet rays, but can feed these organisms, allowing bacteria populations to grow unheeded.
