mrhookup Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Took dad out of Port Sheldon Saturday morning. Started setting lines at 6:30am in 80 FOW slightly North of port and heading West. Had some tackle issues while setting lines which included a dipsy rod that must have had a weak spot breaking for no apparent reason while setting it. Had our 6 rod spread in the water by the time we hit 100 FOW when the rigger down 35 with a UV Mixed Veggie Stingray took off and we landed a nice 5lb coho. While resetting the rod in 108 FOW I had the ball down 4 feet and was in the process of adding a fixed slider when the line took off out of my hands and we boated a 3lb coho. Finally got that rod back in the water and it took off again in less than 5 minutes now in 115 FOW. We landed a 10lb king to go 3 for 3 in the first 20 minutes after getting lines set. Continue West out to 125 and decided to make a loop back through that same area. Nothing going on the second pass so we worked out to the 160-170 area and picked away at them until we called it quits at 11:30am finishing 5 for 9. Everything hit on some form of a West troll going 2.7-2.9 SOG. Nothing going east and nothing on the smaller baits (Stinger). All the fish had multiple 4-6" alewives in their stomachs when cleaned.
