Billy V Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Anybody from this forum gonna be at the Niagara bar this May? Might be fun to get together and meet some of you!Bill
SEADUCKTION Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Billy, I will be there from Thursday till Tuesday, and also docked in the boatyard. I will see you there.Talk to you later.Rich
Billy V Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Look forward to it guys! Should be a lot of fun!!
Yankee Troller Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 What boat you bringing down? I think you should drive the new boat to Wilson for the first two weekends from the Oak. The next weekend plan on bringing it back to UnFairHaven.
Billy V Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 It's looking like that might be the plan Bro....since the old one sold today....!!!   So you're saying we have an unfair advantage in Fair Haven since there's so many fish there??????
Yankee Troller Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 No, I think its unfair that you only get Salmon late summer to fall. That must suck! Most of the time you cant even reach the dang things they are down so far. Well, maybe this year will be different with the sharks on board.
Billy V Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 We LOVE our brown trout fishery in the spring! There really is no better place on the entire lake to go after them than where we are. If we need spring Salmon, we just head out to the Bar with you guys. We manage to get down deep and take our fair share of Kings all summer & fall. You should've seen your face last year when I told you we had to run 150' of cable out! I thought you were gonna fall out of the boat!!! And yes, the Sharks will definitely help reduce the blowback. Can't wait to get those shiny suckers wet!
GLF Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 By sharks, are we talking the fish shaped weights, or is it something else?
Billy V Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 We're talking about the Shark Cannonballs. www.sharkcannonballs.com.
GLF Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Nice looking cannonball. They look like they will really reflect the light. Are you using these on all of your riggers or only one one in your spread?
Billy V Posted February 7, 2007 Author Posted February 7, 2007 Last year with 4 riggers on my old boat, I was running them on my stern riggers. I'll have some in chrome this year, but I also plan to paint a couple of them black for stealth presentations. The best part about them is that our our way where we often have to fish 100 ft down or more, they really track straight and reduce blowback to almost zero. Especially with the 15# Sharks.
IRISH56 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Where are you guys gonna be staying?? I'll be up for at least a few days fishing out of Wilson harbor, staying on Grand Island. I'd like to track you guys down for a cocktail or two.DAN
SEADUCKTION Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Dan, I will be staying at the KOA in Lewiston and keeping the boat at the Wilson boat yard for the first 5 days of the derby. We will be in town on Thursday. Rich
Billy V Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 Dan, We plan to be staying at Wilson Boat Yard, but its kind of up in the air for us now. I sold the 24' Penn Yan, and we hope to take delivery of the new one on Friday, May 4th. If all goes well with the delivery and the weather, we plan to be there that afternoon and there thru the weekend, maybe even into Tuesday or so depending on how the fishing is. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly! :good:
