Killin' It Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Well, needless to say its been an up and down season on Killin' it. Boat issues followed by more issues, sprinkle in some work and school and I am not making my quota for days on the lake. (4 more weeks of class then this will change) None the less I digress. Friday Am Pre fished with Juicy Baron and my buddy Travis. We ended with 6-7 fish. All in all a mixed bag with some trout, kings, and steel. We found our best fishing in the mud at Saugy as my trout program up this way never materialized. Steelheaders event on Saturday.... Being stubborn is something I am very good at, and knowing that fish were caught in the water I fished the day before, I was hell bound to grind out my fish between Holland and Saugy. Watching most of the fleet power down past Saugy during the shotgun start was a bit unnerving, I stuck to my guns and the GRIND began. We fished the 45 FOW line from Holland to Saugy and back, going south we did great coming back North not so much. We ended the day 11 for 14 with a 40 pound box for the event and way to many undersized fish. Sounds like the best fishing was farther south, live and learn, but it is sure hard to leave fish to find fish. when the day before the north troll in the same water was the better of the two trolls.
