SUPERTRAMP Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Well Sunday was a Struggle in St Joe. Had the Southern Guy Richard Brooks and his girlfriend on the boat along with Terry Motsinger, Brian Brockway and Terry Overloop. Started the day like we did Thursday and it took 2 hours to get our first hit. We worked north to the Cement wall and out to 85FOW. Ended the day with 8 fish 6 kings, 2 were released and 2 Lakers. Rich and Meredith had a good time and all got to haul in some fish. Lakers Came on an 8" Mtn Dew E Chip flasher and home tied Pickled sunshine fly. The kings all came on stingers. We got both lake trout on riggers all the rest of the fish came on 6 color, 4 color and full core set ups. Speed was slow 2.3 mph on the fishawk was best. Water is cold out in 80 FOW 42 on the surface and 42 down 75.
gmfishon Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 sounds like you could have done worse good job on putting it together!
Southernguy Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Mike, me and Meredith had a great time out. Great weather, caught some fish and good company. Learned some things about trolling that I didn't know before. The lead core line system was very cool. So how does the summer shape up for fishing up there? Does it taper off or just have to move to deeper water or move further north? Thanks again!!!!! Richard
SUPERTRAMP Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Richard, we are already moving off shore, and that will open up some other presentations. We will be fishing deeper and using more long line presentations, Copper line in 300 and 450 foot lengths will become the norm from here out. Later this summer the fishing will slow a bit in St. Joe and move North. So glad you and Meredith had a good trip.
