DIRTY DOG Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Had to work in the morning so I decided to take a late afternoon/evening boat ride. I left the ramp around 3 with the Eliminator and my good friend Mitch and headed south. we set up in front of the dunes in 15fow,and trolled to Saugatuck and turned back. We pulled lines at 8pm going 20 for 24. 11 browns, 1 nice coho, 1 return steelhead, and 7 shaker kings returned . Here what worked, lol, we haven't changed a bait in 2 weeks. DIRTY DOG Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 You may stop at ray's mini mart in Muskegon, or give snug harbor bait and tackle a call.
ekbelt Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 The largest selection I have ever seen is when we go to Erie walleye fishing at Bottomline Bait and Tackle over in Gibraltar, MI. The seem to be better priced over there too. I always pick up a few every trip.
RobGrass Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Can you tell me what it means when someone says 1 color or 2 colors? I'm new to this big lake stuff and trying to learn. Thanks, for the report and help!
ruder Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 It relates to fishing with lead core. Lead core line is split into 10 yard colors so 1 color is 10 yards, 2 color is 20 yards, etc. Each color sinks ~5 feet depending on speed.
