Southernguy
Hey guys been reading this web site for weeks now. What a great web site for fishing!!! I usually go way up north to the boundary waters above superior but my trip got canceled this year. I've decided to bring my girlfriend with up to St.Joseph and try our luck with steelhead, salmon and possibly walleye from May 9-11. Just looking for info on where someone could fish from the bank and have some success. Piers or rivers? I'll drive. Also while asking, a top notch bait store and breakfast spot that you all like. Any help is appreciated, I've been struggling with figuring this trip out. Richard
Sly Selea
Tackle Haven on Riverview Drive. Thortons Café on the corner of Ship street catywompus from the gas station in St Joe, and Frankies Diner on Main street in Benton Harbor just over the bridge. Most people fish from the pier, and it probably offers the highest success, but a lot of Benton Harbor people fish from the bank across from Tackle Haven. If I had my new boat rigged by then I'd offer to take you out, but I don't think it's gonna be ready by then.

I do ask for gas donations after the trip and I sometimes keep a fish or 2. My boat is a ChrisCraft 316 Commander Sport Fisherman, and we are slipped at slip 111 in Brians Marina. Just a thought if you and your girlfriend want to try the big lake fishing on the cheap. PM me or call my cell 269 929 4221.
Losin Lures
That is the weekend of the Schu's Summer Challenge. You should stop by Pier 33 and check out the weigh in. Schu's is also a great place to eat. C&J Berts in Stevensville (close to St. Joe) is a great place for breakfast too.
