RedRider Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Rod past away early Sunday morning from what we believe to be a massive heart attack. He was a great friend and was the person that would do anything for another. He donated his time, boat, and fishing skills to many Child Wish outings. I personally spent the previous week with him and friends fishing walleyes on Lake Erie. I feel privileged to have spent so much time with him before this tragedy. He leaves behind a wife, son (16), and daughter (14).As some of you know, he was in the middle of replacing the transom and power in his SeaCraft. All of the parts are there and a few of us will be finishing this for his family this summer. Hopefully his son will be able to enjoy the boat in the years to come.If any of you have any further questions please feel free to PM me. Otherwise, please visit the link below for details about the service. It should be updated later this afternoon.www.hartquistfuneral.com/obituaries/Rodney-Mccormick/#!/ObitAndServiceI copied and pasted from another site, thought I would share here.
Just Hook'n Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Very sad indeed...43 is WAY to young.Jesus gets another fishing buddy.
SUPERTRAMP Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Lets all take a moment of silence for a fallen fellow fisherman. 43 is way too young, I will pray for his wife and children.
bigweenie Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Rod was so funny I learned to not be taking a drink when I looked at his facebook posts. Hot coffee coming up thru the nose is no fun. He was a good guy and so glad I got to help him out a couple times, BW
Nailer Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 It's never good to see this kind of news.A quick search through his past post shows how good of a father he was.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Great loss, and so young yet. Praying for his family.
Priority1 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'm praying as I type for his young family. RIP Rod. Ya just never know when we will pull our last line in.
Hazzard Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I know that its near imposable for everyone that knew Rod in person and or on GLF to attend the services. But if you would like to help out this great Man's family here is a link. RIP http://www.gofundme.com/8il61w
