EdB
We had a great start to our trolling season. Mostly coho with a couple nice ones. This king came on a double jointed orange gold rap down 15 on a rigger. We had some great luck with 2 fishing poles. Our buddy went to grab a rigger rod and slipped and tossed it over the side. The line was still clipped on the rigger and we got that one back. An hour later, he did it again. He grabbed the middle rigger and the pole launches into the drink. We did not get it back. Now this is a long time salmon master angler and he never send a rod over in his life. It was an extreme rare event for this buddy to drop one in the drink. As you can imagine, we had some fun with it! After a troll and a turn, we came back by the same spot and saw the rapala floating as it passed our stern corner. We figured the rod was on the bottom with the lure attached and floating like a bobber over it. We marked it on the gps and circled it, almost got it but ran over it and lost it. 2 hrs later on another pass by the same mark, we dropped the riggers to the bottom for the heck of it. We could not believe it when we snagged it and we got it back in the boat! 2 rods over the side in 1 trip and got them both back! Our fish came on Thin fins on boards with 100 ft leads...Red/blk, orange gold, green/blk spots. Double j orange/gold raps on riggers down 6-15 ft. A small orange dodger and green coho fly on divers out 15 ft. We ended the day with a nice box of 25.
