Just to add to the fun I was night fishing by myself. Thank goodness for knipex mini bolt cutters! This pic was from 2-3 years ago and was the first(and last) time I tried to hand land a muskie.

You got that right Steve. It happened so fast. I was pretty proud of myself though(not with the landing of the fish) but,... I cut the hook/fish away from my thumb, cut the remaining hooks free from the fish, released the fish, pulled hook from my thumb, cleaned and dressed it, then kept fishing. I caught one more small muskie later that night!
