AllenW Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I've been reading about currents at different depths in the great lakes, and how they'll effect lure speed.Does Superior have these currents?Been trying to decide if something like a Fish hawk would be worth the money?tiaAl
Line Dancin Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 All the great lakes have currents. This site give a good look at currents at the surface and at depth. http://www.glerl.noaa.gov/res/glcfs/currents/ it works best in google chrome.

Line Dancin Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 To the second part of your i got one a few years ago it does make a difference when you change directions with the currecnt you can adjust your down speed to keep your lures working.
randy Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Yes Superior gets some ripping currents. lakes completely froze but sunday outta rabbit bay in 110 fow 1 1/2 oz jig line still at 30-40 degree angle.
jmohunts Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 DONT KNOW it for a fact, but would say lake superior has the most in currents, could be wrong, i have added a depth raider for this year, but couldnt pass up deal, Im sure will see the difference. Just one more thing you dont have to guess about.
AllenW Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks all, I think I'll add one to my wish list and give it a try.al
TyeeMe Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Yep Superior has currents !!! I got a fish hawk last year and was surprised by the currents at the ball compared to SOG with GPS
AllenW Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Thanks all, have the Fish Hawk hooked up and as soon as I get the riggers and FH wired for power I'm off to try the new boat and see what happens.Al
