coralee Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Looks like this deer is sick of sleeping in the snow filled woods. Its been in the yard a lot the last few weeks. It found some bare ground under the tree. Incidentally the tree is a giant sequoia from California we planted as a twig years ago. Winter also had brought a huge snowy owl that has lowered the rabbit population in the yard and an Eagle that has been prowling the fields. Guess I'm going stir crazy in the house waiting to get on the water. Been staring out the windows too much.
Nailer Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I just finished a job on the Thornapple River that was loaded with deer that where sick of this winter. These kind of winters have to really suck when your a deer. Thanks for sharing Bob.
highpointdf Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 This rain and the freeze that is supposed to happen tonite is not going to do the deer any good. There is going to be quite a crust on top of plenty of snow yet.
coralee Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 Well when the deer walked off I noticed it has a bad leg or foot so its going to be especially hard on that one.
