Found some open water down in Indiana so strapped the yaks up and joined a buddy to go for some browns. I ended up going about 7 for 15 on browns, losing a lot kayak side (left my net in the car). Buddy landed about the same. A lot of cookie cutter 17-19 inchers but we each had one over 24". They bit in flurries and must have been schooled up. A few jigging and a few on cranks. Overall a good start to 2014. Some fish porn attached.

I am really jealous! Would love to see some closeups of your yak. I am going to be picking up a perception pescador angler real soon, which is the exact same hull as your tarpon 120. Just want to see how yours is rigged.

Nice Job on the browns , cant' wait for open water here.

National ave launch opened up a bit with the warm weather the last couple of days. I'm gonna try to get out tomorrow afternoon. Will post report if I go.

Way to go! I need to dig the Hobie out of the snow bank!

Thanks for the report. What kind of jigging set-up you using? And were you trolling or casting cranks?

Just a 1/8 oz darter jig and 4"white gulp for shallow water. Mainly casting cranks but a few on short trolling runs.
