EdB Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Drilled a lot of holes and picked away at some nice perch, biggest was 12-1/4 inches. Nice start to the ice season.

phishtix Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Yummy! So how thick was the ice? I've been seeing some guys on the little ponds over here.Been a while since we've had good ice before Christmas.
EdB Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Had 4-6 inches of clear blue ice. The ice season is off to an early start this year.
Priority1 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Ed, Nothing better than those cold water yellow bellies. Clean some and put em right in the pan. When they are fresh they will flip themselves over when done on one side.
EdB Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Aaron, yes. We have not got a lot of perch in recent yes but had good perch fishing 10+ years ago. I was targetting gills when I got them. Did not even have any minnows. Didn't find any gills Probably get some minnows for this weekend and see if I can find some more.
