modifing line guide

just got a couple new cv55L reels what have you guys done to enlarge the line guide hole to let the larger knots with copper go through thanks Todd

The new 55 should have the larger guide s. All mine are under three years old and came with them.

Otherwise you could use a dremel tool with the carbide deburr bit to open them up by hand

You could always buy new "wide mouth" guides from tuna toms. They run about 5 bucks each.

I did this with one of my reels. I simply put a slotted screwdriver in the guide to OPEN it up just a hair. Worked for my needs and haven't experienced any issues.

thanks guys there new from ebay probally old stock have to send a couple reels to toms anyways will just buy the bigger ones and give that a try thanks again

You have to take the reel apart to get the new guides in, but it's not a bad job and goes quick
