One 5lb steelie on half core white moonshine spoon. Started in the channel and trolled all the way to 110. Marked fish consistently startibg in about 60fow all the way to 110fow and back. Got bleeding off by strong east winds. Radio chatter was all the same....marking lots and just washing lures. Hopefully someone figured them out.

Thanks for the report Justin. I have been frustrated too often this summer with the same thing. I have been consistently marking a lot of fish, but catching them much less consistently that I expect to.

Salmon that "run" in Holland are just confused.

They are trying to find either the Grand River or the Kzoo (Grand Haven or Saugatuck).

There will always be fish that come into Holland, but not in the staggering numbers they do in the other main ports.

That being said, could be a day or two or could be a little longer.

Also, there are typically two staging groups, one runs earlier and the other a little later in the year.

Holland has net pins and gets a good return if you hit the right days. Ill be out the pulling kings and coho out of the channel while most boats are shrink wrapped. A few years ago we were 5/7 on the first Saturday in October, last year we were 2/5 on September 22.

Oil spill didn't make it downstream, so n/a to any fishing below the dam at allegan.

Plenty of perch fishermen north of the channel.

Holland gets some stocking but not near what the kzoo or grand get.

Hoping to target the younger salmon with steelies and browns through fall if weather cooperates

Sept 3rd and 4th saw a good run of kings in the Holland channel. Five fish in one hour on the 3rd, three for four on the 4th. All on green and white double glow, and bloody nose glow. Riggers set at 14 foot down.

Hope we get another run with the weather cool down.
