buster107 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 What # test line and is it fluoocarbon leader you use on your copper rigs?
1mainiac Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 20lb P Line Flouroclear for last 4 years no issues yep I break one now and then but it works for me.
CITM Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 20 lb Seaguar Invisx floro. P-line is good too.
j1musser Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 20# flouro on copper/lead higher rods and 20-30# big game on deeper (300+) copper and later in season
overthelimit Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I use 30lb flourocarbon leader material, it seems to be much more abrasion resistant than regular flourocarbon casting line. Blood Run sells it in bulk, otherwise you have to buy 33yrd spools.
Nailer Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 #20 in the past, but the fish where not as big. #30 may be a better option.
BenLubbs Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Using 20# Gamma for a while and like it but had a meat rig break of a couple weeks ago and so have since switched everything to 25# Ande. I have used 30# Blood Run on some rigs and like that as well.
Legacy Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 20# Blood Run fluoro for spoons and 30# Blood Run fluoro for flasher/fly or meat/paddle
Just Hook'n Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 25# fluoro - I think. Have a spool of it that we use to rerig stuff...that being said, I am not sure how they come rigged from Lakeshore tackle.
SUPERTRAMP Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 20# flouro on copper/lead higher rods and 20-30# big game on deeper (300+) copper and later in seasonThat's where I am at. The 300 copper needs a little stretch and the 30# Big Game gets it done. I normally run about 40' of leader. Remember to keep your drag loose too.
sjk984 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 30lbs seagar line, not leader Don't know what the difference is except 15$
hear fishy fishy Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 17 pound trilenne for 150 copper and short cores.20 pound triple fish for 250 copper and longer cores.30 pound segar for 300 and longer coppers.
Rascal Trophy Fishing Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Nice analysis Matt, depends on the length of the copper being run for best results.
