Far Beyond Driven
Way too heavy outside the piers.Kinda heavy inside the piers.Much nicer in mac. Hoped a few kings trickled in but no joy, stayed busy though going 6/6 with two sheep, two kitten fish (small channel cats), and a pair of 5# walleye, one coming on a green glow j plug. Oddly, this is not the first walleye I've taken on a j plug.
EdB
I'd rather have the 2 - 5lb walleye instead of some salmon fillets, now that is a great catch and going to be delicious.
Fishrmac
excellent! Thats why I like Lake Mac instead of PS because if its bad outside you always have the channel and Mac for sheep, cats, walters, pike, possible musky. I always pack a walleye rod with me. truansea
Would love the walleye too! About 5 years ago, was trolling the channel for kings with my dad, who incidentally likes to drive and rarely grabs a rod. We were on the mac end of the channel and he happened to be in the back of the boat when a rod went. He grabbed it and immediately declared it a sheephead as it didn't pull hard enough for a mature salmon. Lo and behold, he was wrong- into the boat comes an 11 lb walleye! As we laughed and marveled, I turned the boat around in mac and headed for the channel for some more salmon action (we had caught several dark pigs already). As we returned to the same spot, the same rod (with yellow j-plug) fires again and my dad, who just reset it, pulls in a 13 lb walleye! What are the odds of two accidental master-class fish within 5 minutes of each other?!? Needless to say, he returned to his post at the wheel with a grin on his face and no need to touch another rod
