Fishrmac Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I have a 17'sylvan fishing boat with 2 rod holders ahead of the windshield (one each side) and 2 holders in back. Do I run my high dipseys in the front with no ring on setting3 and in the back run rings on setting1 or 2?
fishy1 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Yes run your high diver in the front holders and you can run them with the rings on them also I usually run my low divers on 1 or 1.5.
ChampionShip Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I run my deep divers with wire and a mag with ring set on 1.5 in the farther aft and lower angled holder. High is the standard size with the ring set on 3 in a forward holder one click up from the deep diver.
Far Beyond Driven Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 10 years on my four winns and I still don't run 2 per side. Oddly it works pretty well on my 14' though. Shows how important set up is. Slide diver on 3 over a mag wire diver on 2, with the slide diver rod being a foot longer.
EdB Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Can't go wrong with a lo mag wire diver and a regular diver as your hi diver like Mike and Kevin said.
Fishrmac Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks guys! Just braid dipseys for me right now. Wire some day.
fishy1 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks guys! Just braid dipseys for me right now. I got rid of my wire years ago and see no advantage in using wire and my catch rate hasn't changed on my divers.
