jimbobber Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 fishing out of holland is reel good rite now , if you want lake trout theres tons of them in 85 to 100 fow with a few good kings mixed in ,slide out to 130 to 160 to find bigger kings, meat rigs have been producing some very nice kings.saturday we needed a steelhead for the big red so we went west hit 205 fow and hit 3 steelies in a half hour. last night we fished the holland steelheaders summer leauge and stayed in 85 to 90 fow ,caught 15 fish in therre only 4 kings the rest were lake trout , tin can with spin-n glow on bottome for the lakers and glow spoons for the trout.
rbradley Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 there were a bunch of spin n glows in my boat when I bought it, how do you run them? I've been at this a long time, but have never targeted lakers.
tronner Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Jimmy,Check your @steelheaders.org email.ThanksTS
Far Beyond Driven Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Run them 28-30" behind a dodger and you won't have to slow down as much and can still target kings on your other rods. Stack a bead or three, then a treble hook if you want to pick up every zebra mussel on the bottom, or a single hook if you want to lose a few fish behind the boat.
Fake Bait Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks for the report Jimmy. Trying to get out Saturday night for the first time since the 4th. Hoping the action continues to heat up.
