83mulligan Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Hi, I'm Steve. I haven't had a boat for about 4 or 5 years. I found a decent 1999 crestliner and I'm in the process of rigging it up and looking forward to getting out on the big lake. Most of my salmon/trout fishing is in the u.p. (drummond island). I'm thrilled to have a trailer boat now which will allow me to get in on the action on Lake Mich and Saginaw Bay.

Just Hook'n Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Welcome to the site Steve...love your avatar. We fished in a small boat up near Drummond when I was a kid and I remember getting close to those Ocean Liners....cool.
83mulligan Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Thanks again for all the welcomes!Just hook'n: Drummond Island is a beautiful place to fish Salmon. I remember back in the late 80's what an awesome fishery we had there and most times, there would only be a half dozen or so boats fishing it.
83mulligan Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 how many fish it now?It depends on the fishery. Once people learned about it and the fishing was good there could be 150 boats on the water. After the baitfish crash in Lake Huron and a reduction in plants on the St. Mary's River, there are not many any more.
