IRITEI Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Don’t fish lake Michigan, but tie a few flies for those that do. Your opinion on fluorocarbon leaders for spring Coho or usually later Kings. Picking the “manure out of the pepper†or a necessary cost to do everything in your power to get an edge? Thanks.
Nailer Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I like the 40# Flouro for fly leaders. I also like the single/treble tournament tie.
Just Hook'n Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I'm right with Ken...40 lb fluoro and either two single hooks or a single/trebble combo.
KJ pluggin Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I also use Flouro leaders, I like the clarity and stiffness it has over mono.
IRon Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Same here. Fluoro.,treble hook, beads of various colors(3 or 4), single hook, fly then sometimes small bead for the head/eye (glow, pearl, black etc...).
Yankee Troller Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 We use Flouro as well, but we choose 50lb test. A little stiffer than 40lb, which should lead to greater whip of the fly. Most here on Lake O use 50lb.
Just Hook'n Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 That's because you guys have sharks in Lake O...hahaha...those kings are huge.
Yankee Troller Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Stop it! You guys are putting up some nice fish in the tourneys the last few weekends.
