larry Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Heading up from out of state Wed for a week out of Muskegon, any tips to get started. Haven't seen many post from Muskegon lately. Thanks for any help.
Blackhawk Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 welcome to the site Larry. Very helpful fishermen around here. I can't help with Muskegon but just south of there between Holland and Grand Haven has really improved with a good temperature break @ 32' down. 70 deg. on the surface and 55 deg. at 32' The Kings are moving back into a fish- able pattern. Not so scattered like we saw in June. Long lines off boards have been hot. 300' copper has been my most consistent rod this year. Good luck.
Nailer Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 They had the Triport challenge this weekend out of Muskegon, and some nice fish where taken. Hope all goes well for you.
Blackhawk Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 That will explain the lack of info:grin:Look for some good reports this week.
pike bay Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 This weekend we did the best in 80-100 fow about 1 mile north of the pier and up to the 1st net. Some big fish in that water with 3 of them being over 20 pounds. We had 9 fish the first day and 7 today which got us 1st place in the am division of the tournament. Hope this helps.
steeliefreak Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 We ran 2 trips yesterday and there were lots of good sized Coho and Steelhead from 150 to 300 fow, 30-95 down caught fish. Coppers, cores, divers, and riggers all took their share. Most of the fish were packed with all sized baitfish.
j1musser Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 165-205fow was best for numbers.We boxed 9 fish by 930 out there with 3 steelies. 2 good fish (1 lost)in 170fow on 350-400' copper. Couldn't find size. Good luck.
