cmarfia Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Just wondering how many people have caught fish without the adipose fin. Caught 2 kings on Friday that were missing this fin. I saved the heads, but was curious how difficult the process is to report this to the DNR. All input is appreciated.Chris
EdB Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I get a bunch every year and turn them in. Here is a link to a recovery form, fill that out, put it in a small zip lock to protect it and then put it in the same bag as the head. There is a list of drop off locations in the link too. They will send you a letter on where it was planted and give out free lures too as a reward. Now that they are tagging all planted fish, not sure if they will have lures for every head turned in. I keep the forms, a tape measure and scale with my cleaning tools so I can package the heads and forms when cleaning fish.http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_52259_48361-180624--,00.html
redneckman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Where do you fish cmarfia? Get as much info from the fish as you can. Certain ports will have creel clerks and you can always give the heads to them as well.
