Fishrmac
Headed out with my good buddy and my 3 kids (6, 4, 2) for their first trolling adventure. Started south from the pier heads in 25fow and within 2 minutes of dropping a downrigger it was ripping off line....landed a few minutes later. Trolled south probably a mile or so and turned back North in 14-20fow and had the same rigger go off set 15' down. Then had a high line planer go off and a 3 color go all nearly back to back with a double in there. All fish were nice 8-10lb Sheepshead....sorry to get ya'll excited but my kids thought it was a blast and I had to see how they behaved in the boat trolling before we ventured too far out for salmon. 2 year old slept, other two were ready for rods.White spoon on the rigger, purple spoon on a high line, copper boy/girl on 3 color. My buddy said he saw a steelhead jump just as we left the pier head and there were at least 24 rods in the water on the north pier so someone must have caught a fish. Great morning though and the kids are ready to tackle the big silver fish that inhabit Lake Michigan soon!

Blackhawk
Good job on the very positive first trip for the youngsters. They don't care what kind of fish it is.
Sea Eagle
We did better than that we must have caught 20 sheepshead today. Of course we were on Lake Erie. Got tired of the slow bite on Lake Michigan and decided to give walleye a try. Caught 8 walleye, but a heck of a lot more sheepshead.
Fishrmac
Sheepies are fun on their initial runs but tire quickly. Still fun when nothing much is going on or when we can't run deeper due to kids
