BRIAN0214 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Anybody have any ideas who could install my fish finder? I live in Grand Haven. I hate to take it to a Marina and get charged $100 an hour. Or is that the going rate for installing one?
HONDAM Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The closest NMEA certified electronics installer is in Zeeland, MI. Probably cost about the same as a marina but they specialize in marine electronics and you know it will be done right. Here is their info i got off the NMEA website:Quality Marine Electronics 10692 Chicago Dr. Zeeland, MI 49464http://www.qualitymarineelectronics.com/
angrypenguin Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I just had an lowrance elite 5 fishfinder/chartplotter installed at Ron's Marine in your neighborhood. Happy with the service and price. Works great and installed just how I wanted.Ron's Marine ServicesAddress: 12073 Lake Michigan Dr, West Olive, MI 49460 Phone(616) 842-5215
SUPERTRAMP Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 My new Humminbird 858 CDI cost me 75 bucks to get installed at Brians Marine in St Joe. We had to get an extension for the transducer cable and that was 40 bucks. They wired it and strung the transducer cable. Better to have it done right than to do it yourself and end up dissatisfied.
MY2SONS Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Theyr're really not that difficult to install with the exception of routing the wire to keep everything out of sight. That's more time consuming than difficult. The instructions that come with the units are pretty self explanitory, and you save $$$.
CAC Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I installed my Lowrance LMS 525 DF. It wasn't hard. You can install it yourself if you read the manual thoroughly .
