We went on a recon mission to 200 feet of water well North out of Muskegon today. We trolled south for at least 2 miles before heading into shallower water. When we hit the 12 line we headed straight east. We then had two hits in 55 feet of water at around 11 o'clock. A shaker king off a rigger down 40 that we released on a magnum flounder pounder and a steelhead on an orange X rap on a 3 color. We marked those fish on the way out but had heard they had lock jaw. We could hear guys on the radio all morning sounded as if it was very slow. I think if we had stayed in shallow and picked away At them we could have had a okay day. There was a fair amount of marks between 55 and 95 feet of water But we had had enough.

Sounds like we got a little lucky fishing from 6 AM until 11 AM. Started in 80 feet of water first thing and fished from 80 feet of water to 120 feet of water and ended up 6 for 8. Two fish 60 feet down with a mag blue dolphin On a downrigger. Two fish on a dipsey with a UV green Flasher and UV green fly Set to run 80 feet down. Two fish on a full-core with purple mag spoon. After 930 the fish shut down and we tried out deep into 220 but couldn't get anything going.

Welcome aboard Alex.

My son was mating on a charter boat in Grand Haven, and said it was slow for them also.
