Yoda
There are at least 5 nets in the Detour/Drummond area. there are 3 in the river itself. 2 of them are on the red can side 1 is on the green can side, they are out of the shipping channel but you still need the be carefull. there has been one off and on between the ferry dock and frying pan island also. There are at least 2 more down by espinor and one of those is a pot net (trap Net), the rest are gill nets, this was as of saturday June 15th. They move those nets from time to time so be on the lookout. On a high note, we did land 9 fish Saturday afternoon on a charter, 3 of the 6 atlantics we landed came in at 12 pounds each, we also landed a 11 pound King, 2-5 pound lakers and the 3 smaller Atlantics. We took fish on 1-2-3 colors of lead, dragging Warrior Flutter spoons (Steelhead candy both the glod and silver blanks, Mod Blue dolphins, and the chicken wing) the riggers were also pretty active, set fron 30 to 40 feet,( met. yellow tail, Warriors Mag Banana nut muffin, and there "mag Glow shark) free sliders in blur Huckle Berry and Banana Nut muffin Glod blank)..... pike bay
fished out of the bay between Espanore and cream city point looking for a stray walleye with no luck. Could see the net that is in the usual place between the point and island. Next time up I hope to try the same area for atlantics.
aDDICT
Fished Sunday through Friday. Learned a ton about the area again, just when you think you have it figured out you realize you don't. Ended the trip with 35 atlantics, 12 kings, 8 lake trout, 6 steelhead, and a coho. You locals are blessed to have such a diverse fishery right out the back door. Back to lake mi for the rest of the summer.Good luck
Tunas Pride
Had a wonderful week with friends:thumb: and was able to make it on the water all week. Went 21 out of 25 with a mix of atlantics , kings, lake trout and pinks. they seemed to hit on anything we threw out ...except spinner and fly... what a nice area to fish.. did get messed up with a submerged net by frying pan island, but that was the only mishap... looked for the addict but we must have missed him .. We will make our way back here again.:thumb:
aDDICT
We called for Chuck a couple of times on the radio but I didn't remember the boat name. We were in a white 25' sport craft, the boat was at Fort Drummond Marina. This was our 4th year heading up to chase the leapers. What a blast!!! Fishing was not as good as last year but definatly good enough!!
