JWheeler Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 :thumb: Despite the known muddy like river conditions, I tagged along with Indybleck for a Detroit river expedition. We worked the steel mill / mud island areas from 7am - noonish. Water visibility was not good, maybe 4'6". Threw everything possible at them, 1 oz jig, blue ice plastic, is what hooked the most fish. Brought home a single good eater, and lost 2 NICE fish on the way up...very heart breaking. Thanks Tom for the trip! No place better to be!
mattmishler Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I guess a blind squirrel can find a nut now and then. Nice job
CAC Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Thank you for the report Wheels! We found that adding stinger hooks to our baits decreased our losses from hookset to the boat. I am headed to the Detroit River tomorrow. Hopefully the fish will cooperate.

When I would pickup the fish were just on the line, didn't feel any "hit"... Good to get out....
