need ideas for a fish board

I want to make a board that will hang over the gunnels to take picks of the catch.

What could i use besides wood for the board

And what can i use to hang fish besides nails.

Vynol and composite material is available instead of wood and won't rot or need painting and various vynol coated hooks are available as well. I bought bike hooks on sale at Menards 5 for a buck.

Starboard would also be good. Nearly indestructible and can be worked and cut just like wood. There is a local materials outlet here in Lansing that has it as surplus from their manufacturing business. Not expensive at all.

I am going to make a board as well to do the same thing. I'm planning on using screw in hooks similar to what would be used on a coat hook. They have a good selection at most of the home improvement stores.

Composite decking material would work Steve. That's what I used for backing on my tracks for the boat. And the screw in hooks work well.
