droak Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Bought a Starcraft Islander so I could get back into fishing and try my hand at the big lakes. Looks like this site will be a wealth of info and help with questions when I have them. Got some work to do on the boat but hoping to get her ready soon.
Priority1 Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Darrel, A warm to GLF. Holler if ya need anything. There is a great and helpful crew here. I have an old Starcraft Islander HT. here is a pic of her on the pond.
droak Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Sweet rig Frank, mines a little older than yours but a HT too. Day I brought her home Only got a chance to splash her 2 times last year, and that was for shakedown on re-powering it, no lines dropped. Hopefully that happens this year
Just Hook'n Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Welcome aboard Darrell, plenty of guys here to share your addiction with. Some of the most fun is setting up a new boat.I'm sure you will get plenty of suggestions from guys here.My biggest suggestions if you are going to get serious are 1. electric downriggers - you will learn to hate manuals if you get out often.2. rod holder rod holders and more rod holders - you can never have enough rod holders on a boat. No matter how many you have you can always use two more.
