cliftp Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Morning AllJust an FYI, had to go down to St. Joe yesterday and checked the DNR launch across from Tackle Haven in Benton Harbor. Docks are still not in. Not sure why. As I get older I certainly appreciate a good dock. The ladder on the concrete wall not so much. Stay safe.Paul C.
SUPERTRAMP Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 CliffThe St Joe launch is ready and docks are in, Its a better launch than the DNR launch, sure u have to pay for parking but it is safer and the launch is a lot more user friendly.

joelsanders Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Where is the st jo boat ramp located, what street? i am familiar with the dnr launch near tackle haven, but would like to find this one. dont show on google maps. help!
Line Dancin Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 The City Boat Launch is located on Anchor's Court, on Marina Island. The daily fee is $5.00 per car/trailer and a season pass is available for $35.00. Season passes are available from the City Clerk's Office at City Hall.go across the bridge from bh to st joe as soon as you go across the bridge it is the first road on the left. take that all the down to the marinas and you will see a sign for the city launch. you make a left to get to the launch just after the sign. Make sure you stay in the channel it gets shallow quick.

And if you have ever had your vehicle broken into at the DNR site the 5 bucks is a bargain.
EdB Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 And the launch fee machine was not installed last weekend so you can launch for free until they get that up and running. They are also building a fish cleaning station there this year.
SeaCatMich Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 If you do use the St. Joe marina island launch 1) The $5 per vehicle is for all vehicles -- if you have a tow vehicle and someone else meeting you there, it is $5 each... and you don't want to pay the fine of not getting the daily permit (don't ask ) 2) Don't go very far downstream from the ramps to go across the river. It gets shallow REALLY quick. Go in daylight the first time or two.
SCUM LINE Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 .They are also building a fish cleaning station there this year.

Paulywood Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Yeah, we launched there saturday and it wasn't too shallow. The 3 docks on the river side were ok to use but the other ones were to shallow for even the smaller aluminum boats.
joelsanders Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks all, once again great info you guys rock!
