mark72 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I only have about a dozen 8 inch spin doctors and a couple tin cans. Wondering what you guys like so I can add somemore to my collection.
Gnarf Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 add some 10 in spin doctors, and some 8 and 10 in pro trolls. Big white paddle is always good.
mattmishler Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 11inch flasher are something that put alot of fish in the boat, work well deep. These have been the best on the charter boats for the past couple years, Black with double slick glow with a Oceana fly, White on double slick glow with hypnotist, Pearl fishscale with oceana fly. Double Crush UV with Illusion fly.8inchersChrome Mtn dew with UV back.UV gator on chrome.Gator on chrome.Uv purple plaid White crush lead back.Green halo with crush glow back.Blue Halo with glow crush back.
sjk984 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 11' white with flash tape..I used a Big Weenie last year as my first big paddle and it out fished the whole spread in july
Nailer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 These are a few you cant go wrong with. Run the white paddle with a Big Weenie poofster down low, and the mountain dew up higher.
kingfish123 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 11" white paddle with crush glow tape on both sides with a pickled sunshine rapture fly on the deep rigger. I have that set up on almost every trip and it normally does not come off at all
1mainiac Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Pro Troll 11in all day every day Big Weenie Poofster fly behind it. Don't be afraid to let it hit the bottom once in a while.
Killin' It Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Jim is right.. I had to replace the tape twice now on the big white paddle because it gets ripped off banging bottom.
SUPERTRAMP Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 10" Spin Doc UV with big weenie uv meat rig and drag it along the bottom.
Jolly II Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 add some 10 in spin doctors, and some 8 and 10 in pro trolls. Big white paddle is always good.Exactly what I was going to say.I run alot the DW Spin Dr's alot, but I always have a protroll out there as well.

mark72 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Posted March 21, 2013 Sweet! Heading to the show in G.R today. So ill look for some. After watching the salmon showdown i noticed alot of fish were caught on white paddles . Anyone know of a good way to ajust the leader legth of a fly? My flies are set up for 8 inch spin doctors, not 11 inch pro troll?
BigWater Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 once you have a flasher fly set up that works you should leave that setup together if you are able. If that isnt a option no-knots work wellhttp://www.lake-link.com/business/index.cfm/943/The-No-Knot/
