Paulywood Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I know there was a post about using an add on line counter when filling reels off bulk spools. If I remember correctly there are a couple but only one works for copper. Can someone tell me which one works for copper? Thanks,Nick
Eyefull Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I think the Berkly one works, the Shakespear doesn't have enough room in it to let the line through under tension without popping the lever arm. I have modified a landscape footage wheel in my shop. I mounted it on some aluminum stock and put eye loops on either side of it to get good wrap. It measures footage exactly. If your in the area, your welcome to stop by and use it.
Legacy Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 The Berkely seems to be the best choice out there... http://www.berkley-fishing.com/products/tools-and-equipment/classics/line-counter
Paulywood Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Thanks again Rob. And thanks for the offer Tony but I'd like to get one so I can measure backer for other rods, too. Now I always have to spool it on backwards and then re-spool. Very time consuming.
Line Dancin Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 i was the one that posted it it is the shakespeare one that works the best for copper.
