Reel Screwd Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Hi guys i purchased a twin inboard boat this winter, I was just sitting back thinking about stuff i will be doing to the new boat... My question is where would i mount the transducers on the transom with twin inboards? for a fish hawk x4 and more than likly picking up a hds 8.. will i have to get some type of puck or thru hull? i havnt looked at my x4 manual yet and was curious about prop wash and wondering if you guys with twin inboards could put up some info. Thanks!
BILLY JOE Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 not sure about the fish hawk but you will have to use a puck type glued to the inside off the hull or a thru hull for the fish finder.if i had to do it again i would go with a thru hull i have a puck type in my sportcraft now .good luck with the new boat
killerbe20 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 As long as you are starting from scratch I would recommend a thru hull for the HDS. More consistent performance. Just have to watch out for location of transducer and trailer bunks/rollers.
