Finally seeing some signs that ice fishing is almost upon us. Some reports of

2" of solid ice up near Little Sturgeon and there was ice forming along the shorelines of the Bay of Green Bay. As long as there is no real windy days, it should hold up nicely and with not a lot of snow in the future forecast, ice should be being made.

I'm going to go check some local rivers to see how they are doing, will post when I check them out. And will keep updating when I know more info or as I am out fishing.

Good luck and be safe!

Well a couple people ventured out on the bay...they managed a few whitefish, only walking out a few hundred feet. Said the ice varied from 2-3" and in some spots barely an inch.

The rivers by us only had 2" and still a few open spots yet...will be a while yet before I go onto the river systems.

Plan on checking some more spots this weekend. Be safe!
